List Models

$ ant models list
GET/v1/models

List available models.

The Models API response can be used to determine which models are available for use in the API. More recently released models are listed first.

Parameters
--after-id: optional stringQuery parameter

ID of the object to use as a cursor for pagination. When provided, returns the page of results immediately after this object.

--before-id: optional stringQuery parameter

ID of the object to use as a cursor for pagination. When provided, returns the page of results immediately before this object.

--lifecycle: optional array of "active" or "deprecated" or "retired"Query parameter

Filter the list to models in any of the given lifecycle stages (active, deprecated, or retired). Up to 3 values. When omitted, the list contains the active and deprecated models; retired models appear only when retired is requested explicitly.

maxItems3
--limit: optional numberQuery parameter

Number of items to return per page.

Defaults to 20. Ranges from 1 to 1000.

minimum1
maximum1000
--workspace-id: optional stringHeader parameter

Optional header to select the Workspace for this request. The value is a Workspace ID (for example, wrkspc_011CZkZaBF1tNoB5wlCeusgy).

Only needed for credentials that can act on more than one Workspace. A credential that belongs to a specific Workspace may omit it; if sent, it must match that Workspace.

--beta: optional array of AnthropicBetaHeader parameterDeprecated

Optional header to specify the beta version(s) you want to use.

Deprecated. This parameter will be removed from this method in a future release. To use beta features, call the beta models methods (`client.beta.models`) instead.
Returns
ListResponse_ModelInfo_: object{ data, first_id, has_more, last_id }

type: "model"

Object type.

For Models, this is always "model".

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

medium: object{ supported }

Whether the model supports medium effort level.

supported: boolean

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

supported: boolean

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

xhigh: object{ supported }

pdf_input: object{ supported }

Whether the model accepts PDF content blocks.

supported: boolean

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

server_tools: object{ code_execution, supported, web_search }

Whether this model supports the web search and code execution server tools. supported is true when the model supports at least one of the tools. A supported tool can still be rejected for your organization, for example when an admin has turned web search off.

code_execution: object{ supported }

Whether the model supports the code execution tool: true when the model supports at least one version of the tool, not necessarily every version.

supported: boolean

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

supported: boolean

Whether this capability is supported by the model.

disabled: object{ supported }

created_at: string

RFC 3339 datetime string representing the time at which the model was released. May be set to an epoch value if the release date is unknown.

formatdate-time
deprecated_at: string

RFC 3339 datetime string representing the time of the model's most recent deprecation. Populated for deprecated and retired models; null while the model is active.

formatdate-time
display_name: string

A human-readable name for the model.

lifecycle: "active" or "deprecated" or "retired"

The model's current lifecycle stage.

  • active: The model is available for use, open to new adopters, and not scheduled for retirement.
  • deprecated: The model remains callable for organizations with existing access, but is headed for retirement and closed to new adopters.
  • retired: The model is no longer available for use; inference requests naming it fail. It remains in the catalogue as the historical record of its retirement.
One of the following:
"active"
"deprecated"
"retired"
line: "haiku" or "sonnet" or "opus" or 2 more

The model line this model belongs to, such as opus for both Claude Opus 4.5 and Claude Opus 4.6. More lines may be added. null when the model belongs to no line; do not infer a line from the id.

One of the following:
"haiku"
"sonnet"
"opus"
"fable"
"mythos"
max_input_tokens: number

Maximum input context window size in tokens for this model.

max_tokens: number

Maximum value for the max_tokens parameter when using this model.

retires_at: string

RFC 3339 datetime string representing the model's currently scheduled retirement date. The schedule can be revised until retirement occurs; null while the model is active or while no retirement is scheduled. A past date on a deprecated model means retirement is overdue, not that it has occurred: lifecycle is the retirement signal.

formatdate-time
first_id: string

First ID in the data list. Can be used as the before_id for the previous page.

has_more: boolean

Indicates if there are more results in the requested page direction.

last_id: string

Last ID in the data list. Can be used as the after_id for the next page.
